Emmo Fittipaldi Celebrates First F2 Points in Sprint Race in Canada

June 3, 2026

Emmo Fittipaldi claimed his first points in Formula 2 this Saturday (23) by finishing the Sprint race of the third round, held at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal, in fifth place. The AIX driver started from ninth, made overtakes, and capitalized on incidents involving other drivers to finish in the top five.

The result is special for the son of two-time Formula One world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, since he moved directly from Eurocup3 to Formula 2. Emmo highlighted that he had fun over the 28 laps of the race on the Canadian circuit, and hopes to maintain the pace in the main race as well as in the Monaco round in two weeks.

“It was a very good race. I had a lot of fun. I started from ninth and finished fifth. This is only the beginning; it was only the third race. Now we will improve and keep this pace to see what happens in tomorrow’s race and also in the Monaco round,” said Emmo Fittipaldi in an interview with Sportv shortly after the race ended.

With the four points earned in Saturday’s race, Emmo Fittipaldi now sits 17th in the standings.

The Canadian leg of Formula 2 will still feature one more race, scheduled for 13:05 on Sunday (24), with Emmo starting from 11th.
