WEC: Heinrich Makes Porsche Debut at 8 Hours of Bahrain Racing Event

October 27, 2025

Laurin Heinrich is set to make his debut with Porsche in the World Endurance Championship. The driver will join the team for the final round, the 8 Hours of Bahrain, which takes place at the beginning of next month.

The German team confirmed the competitor’s lineup on Thursday (23), with him driving the #5 car alongside Julien Andlauer and Mathieu Jaminet.

Laurin’s arrival means that Michael Christensen will not be returning to the team in Bahrain, with the Danish driver unlikely to be part of Porsche’s plans for next year, especially after Jaminet replaced him in the 6 Hours of Fuji.

Meanwhile, in the #6 car, Laurens Vanthoor and Kevin Estre will be racing alongside Matt Campbell. The trio won the Lone Star Le Mans, the round held at the Circuit of The Americas last month.

The 8 Hours of Bahrain will be Porsche’s last race in the WEC, after the German manufacturer announced in early October that it will be ending its Hypercar project.
