James Vowles expressed his desire to make Williams a top team in Formula 1 once again. The team leader emphasized that the project to regain their status is something that will take several years.
In 2025, the British team had their best campaign in the category in almost ten years, finishing the Constructors’ World Championship in fifth place with two podiums achieved by Carlos Sainz.
However, the start of 2026 has not been easy with the delay of the FW48 and absence in Barcelona – but the team leader has already guaranteed their presence in the pre-season in Bahrain, which begins this week.
Looking to the future of Williams, Vowles highlighted how the project is for several years and that his approach at the forefront of the team in Formula 1 will not change.
“We will take this team to the absolute limit to maximize our journey towards leadership”, he said.
“It’s clear that this result was extreme, and we have to recognize that, but even so, they [pilotos] are totally committed to the team.”
