Volkswagen Announces Sponsorship Deal with Brazilian National Team and Unveils Launch Date for New Tiguan Model in Brazil

February 11, 2026

In a year marked by the World Cup, Volkswagen has announced its return as a sponsor of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and the men’s and women’s Brazilian national teams. The announcement was made on Monday (2) at the entity’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

“Volkswagen will be the official sponsor of all Brazilian football teams. Considering 2026 and 2027, two very important years for Brazilian football, we need to be together and make this partnership work,” says Ciro Possobom, CEO of the brand.

In the front row of the presentation was Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the Brazilian national team, who will be responsible for the team’s attempt to win their sixth World Cup title this year. When asked if there were still positions available in the squad, he was direct and stated that there are still openings in the team.

“As I said in my first press conference, Brazil has the good fortune of having many excellent players. The final list is not yet closed, but we are getting close to the final list. Some positions have not been 100% decided,” explains Ancelotti.

The event also featured the presence of Samir Xaud, president of the CBF, who praised the return of the partnership with Volkswagen after 12 years. The last agreement ended in August 2014, two months after Brazil’s loss to Germany in the World Cup semifinals.

“This is an important step in the process, considering major brands like Volkswagen, CBF, and the Brazilian national team, which has a connection with millions of Brazilians,” says Xaud, highlighting that the CBF is currently experiencing a new management model.
