Tito Giaffone Debuts in Cuiabá, Aims for NASCAR Brasil Lead

August 17, 2026

The vice-leader of the NASCAR Brasil standings, Tito Giaffone, faces an unprecedented challenge in his racing career as he pursues the top position. This weekend, the Full Time Sports driver competes for the first time on the outer oval of the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso in Cuiabá, where the series is holding its fifth round of the season with a nighttime double-header.

The round this weekend brings several differences compared to earlier events. In addition to being run at night and marking the season’s first appearance on the outer oval, the double-header will see the two races held with a brief interval between them. Consequently, Tito believes the practice sessions will take on even greater importance.

“We’re heading to a circuit we’ve never raced at before—the Cuiabá outer oval. Because this is a nighttime round with the two races scheduled one after another, I must adapt quickly. So starting the practice well is crucial to contend for the lead in both the standings and the races,” says Tito Giaffone, who is backed by PX.

The driver of car number 15 sits in the second place among the Challenge contenders, with one victory secured at Interlagos and three podiums this season, leaving him 15 points behind the leader. Tito has also demonstrated solid performances in the overall results, recording a top-5 finish and three top-10 finishes after four rounds.

The NASCAR Brasil events begin this Thursday with the first free practice at 21:35. The second practice is scheduled for 18:10 on Friday, and on the same day the qualifying and the Sprint Race will take place starting at 21:35. The first race is slated for 18:05 on Saturday, with the second one starting at 18:50 on the same day.
