The NASCAR Brasil is set to enter a new phase starting from the 2026 season. This week, the Brazilian category unveiled the car that drivers will be competing with from next year, the RISE26.
In an event held on Tuesday, Tarso Marques, Thiago Marques, and Carlos Col gathered journalists and drivers to share the latest updates on the championship. In addition to new venues on the calendar and the introduction of playoffs, the new machine, which is faster and lighter, was also presented.
Speaking with F1MANIA, Tarso discussed the new car and how he felt it was time to bring more innovation to NASCAR Brasil. “The car has a lot of new features, it’s a much faster car, I think it’s around 4 seconds faster than this year’s car,” he said exclusively.
“I think it’s a natural thing in motorsports to always evolve. Obviously, we always try to maintain things as much as possible the way they are, because they’re working well and we also can’t increase costs, you know, to keep the category super accessible and competitive.”
“But improvements are necessary, evolutions are necessary, and it’s not going to stop there. For next year, there are already many things planned, and looking ahead, there will be even more. I think with all this NASCAR partnership, it’s going to get much better. I think not only for the category here but also the level of drivers who have come to the category is very high. And also, this opportunity with the academy that’s taking drivers to NASCAR from outside, creating a path to American NASCAR. So, I think that’s fantastic,” he added.
