Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix Coverage Cancelled by Band Due to Lack of Funds as Mariana Becker Travels

October 2, 2025

The Singapore Grand Prix, scheduled to take place between October 3rd and 5th, will not be covered by Band on the Marina Bay Urban Circuit. This information comes from a journalist who pointed out financial issues as the reason for the suspension of coverage of the 18th stage of the 2025 Formula 1 season by the Brazilian broadcaster.

According to the journalist, the decision was made at the last minute, while a reporter was already on her way to Singapore. The reason cited was the non-disbursement of funds for the team, which means that Band will not have a cameraman and producer on site, making it impossible to provide coverage from the location.

It is still unclear whether this situation will persist for the next stage, the United States Grand Prix, which takes place on October 19th, giving Band two weeks to address the issue.

Although the team will not be present live, the Formula 1 programming this weekend will not be affected, with practice sessions, qualifying, and the race maintaining their scheduled slots on the broadcaster’s grid.

2025 marks the last year that Band will be the home of the category in Brazil, as it was officially announced in July that Globo has signed a contract with Liberty Media, securing rights until 2028, with a division of the races on free-to-air TV and SporTV.
