Rafael Câmara Secures Comeback in Canada Sprint, Maintains P2 in F2 Standings

June 3, 2026

On Saturday the 23rd, Brazilian Rafael Câmara maintained his place in the Formula 2 championship by finishing the Sprint race at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Canada in seventh position. The Invicta Racing driver started from 12th and had to mount a comeback over the 28 laps to move forward and secure two more points.

Cautious at the start, Câmara dropped positions, needing to push forward over the 28 laps. A member of the Ferrari Driver Academy showed strength and patience to gain places, ending the race in seventh and moving up to 36th in the championship standings after the weekend’s opening race.

In his first Formula 2 season, the Brazilian, who is also the current Formula 3 champion, has two podiums, earned in the feature races in Australia and Miami. Starting fifth on Sunday, Câmara aims to sustain the performance shown in the earlier double-header rounds.

The main race of the Canadian stage of Formula 2 will take place on Sunday, starting at 13:05, with broadcasts on Sportv, Globoplay and F1TV.
