The first week of testing for Rafael Câmara as a Formula 2 driver was quite positive for the current Formula 3 champion. Making his debut with Invicta, Câmara was the second-best placed driver on the first day of practice and continued to be among the fastest over the next two days of activities at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, the venue for the Formula 2 post-season tests.
“This week was my first time driving a Formula 2 car, and it was a very good experience. It was a positive test, and we are all satisfied with the result. I was able to adapt quickly, which gave us the opportunity to test several things. There is still work to be done, since we have time until Barcelona, but the test was a good way to end the year, and I’m looking forward to the 2026 season,” says Câmara, who finished Thursday in the top 5 and closed Friday in seventh place.
Invicta team CEO and chief, James Robinson, praised the work of Câmara and his teammate Joshua Dürksen. “It has been a positive start, and I feel we picked up where we left off on Sunday (end of the 2025 season). Rafael and Joshua integrated perfectly into the team, and we were very impressed with both. Rafael adapted quickly to the car, and Joshua brought a huge amount of knowledge and perspective that has been very useful to us. We learned a lot during the tests, and we are looking forward to Melbourne,” says Robinson.
Formula 2 will open the 2026 season in Melbourne between March 6 and 8.
