Brazil Exits FIA Awards 2025 with Four Trophies and Protagonism in Tashkent
The FIA Awards 2025, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, concluded with a highly positive outcome for Brazil. In total, the country left the ceremony with four trophies, distributed across different categories of world motorsport, confirming the strength of the new Brazilian generation and also the weight of Brazil in high-level competitions organized by the FIA.
The highlight of the night was Rafael Câmara, elected FIA Rookie of the Year after a dominant season in Formula 3. The 2025 category champion, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, joined a select group of award winners, including names like Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Alexander Albon, Yuki Tsunoda, Oscar Piastri, and Gabriel Bortoleto.
Câmara was not physically present at the ceremony as he was in Abu Dhabi, where he is participating in the post-season Formula 2 tests, a category he will compete in in 2026. Nevertheless, the Brazilian participated in the award ceremony via a video shown on stage, in which he highlighted the significance of the recognition.
The driver defined 2025 as a special year, emphasizing the conquest of the Formula 3 title and the opportunity to take the next step in his career. Câmara stated that he is proud to be part of this historical list of rookies awarded by the FIA and expressed his hope that the trophy will be just the beginning of an even greater trajectory in international motorsport.
Beyond Câmara, Brazil was also represented with strong emotional charge in the World Rally Raid award. Champion Lucas Moraes, winner alongside navigator Eduardo Puddinger, had his trajectory highlighted in a video shown on stage, which displayed his lifelong dedication to the sport up to the moment of his world conquest in the desert.
Visibly emotional, Lucas recalled that he dedicated his life to rally and spoke about the importance of representing Brazil in a modality that demands resistance, discipline, and resilience. The Brazilian also mentioned his affectionate relationship with motorsport, highlighting a childhood photo with Ayrton Senna and reinforcing the pride of carrying the Brazilian flag to the highest level of world motorsport.
The night also included other symbolic recognitions linked to South America, such as the Rally of the Year award, given to the Paraguay Rally, as well as the Innovation Award, presented to Ferrari, represented by Piero Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc’s presence on stage.
