The NASCAR Brasil weekend at Interlagos Autódromo, in São Paulo (SP), was a positive one for Cacá Bueno. After winning the Sprint Race of the championship’s third round, the Team RC driver earned a podium on Sunday (31) by finishing the day’s second race in third place, in a event where he had to overcome challenges and a series of incidents.
Cacá climbed through the pack to contend for the leading positions at Interlagos after suffering a mechanical issue during the race that opened the day, when he had started from pole position. In the final restart, with one lap to go, the driver of car number 0 gained one more position and claimed third place moments later.
“It was a positive weekend with a victory on Saturday and another podium on Sunday. I would have liked to score points in the morning as well, but a wheel broke after a battle for position. And that forced me to start from the back of the grid in the afternoon race. I struggled on the restarts, but I managed to dodge all the crashes. It was a survival race in which I had fun and we still managed to finish third,” said Cacá Bueno, who is sponsored by Betnacional, Capital Concreto, PicPay, ACDelco, SpeedMax Pneus, Pneu Store, Milwaukee, Turbi and Chevrolet.
After the stop at the Interlagos Circuit, NASCAR Brasil moves forward within the state of São Paulo and will stage its fourth round on June 28, when it visits Velocitta, the racetrack located in Mogi Guaçu.
