Murilo Rocha’s debut season in NASCAR Brasil continues to be marked by challenges and growth. At 16 years old, the Sorocaba-born driver arrives at the championship’s fifth round as the leader among the rookies, ready to tackle another unfamiliar track: the Cuiabá circuit (MT).
The young competitor will be a standout during the category’s first visit to the Mato Grosso capital, in a completely night-time weekend that will feature the “Night Challenge.” The event will conclude with two races totaling 100 miles, in a schedule unprecedented for NASCAR Brasil.
Adapting to new layouts has been a constant for Murilo this season. Right in the first two rounds of the year, in Cascavel (PR) and Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), the driver had to learn circuits where he had not yet competed.
The scene changed in the following rounds when NASCAR Brasil visited Interlagos and Velocitta, tracks already familiar to the Sorocaba native after his participation in F4 Brasil, where he finished as vice-champion in the previous season. With greater familiarity, Murilo showed expressive progress: he earned his first qualification for the Sprint Race, his first podiums, and also the first victory in the Challenge class.
The results placed the driver at the forefront of the rookie standings, in fourth place in the Challenge class and inside the top 10 of the overall classification.
Now, Murilo will once again face the challenge of accelerating on an unfamiliar track, but with an important difference compared to the start of the season: the driver is already adapted to the NASCAR Brasil car. The expectation is to leverage this experience to seek further positive results and widen his ascent in the competition standings.
“It’s a new track and it will be my first experience there. I hope to achieve a quick adaptation already during practice, so I can fight for the lead and achieve good results. I’m counting on everyone’s support and the backing of the Mobil and Full Time team,” said Murilo Rocha.
The Cuiabá stage schedule will feature two free practice sessions, qualifying on Friday, and the two races on Saturday. The broadcasts will be carried by NASCAR Brasil’s official YouTube channels.
