Raúl Fernández won this Sunday (the 9th) the British Grand Prix, the 12th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. The Trackhouse Aprilia rider lined up from second on the grid, seized the lead right from the opening meters by overtaking pole-sitter Jorge Martín, and led the 20 laps of the race held at the Silverstone circuit to take the victory.
The runner-up spot went to Martín, the Aprilia rider who aimed to close the gap to Fernández but without success. Marco Bezzecchi, Martín’s teammate, completed the podium in third after fending off attacks from Álex Márquez, who finished fourth aboard a Gresini Ducati. The top five also included Pedro Acosta of KTM.
Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the race in sixth place aboard a VR46 Ducati, followed by Marc Márquez, seventh on an official team Ducati. Brad Binder, from KTM, was eighth, with Luca Marini, riding a Honda, ninth. Diogo Moreira, on a LCR Honda, finished in the top ten after overtaking Franco Morbidelli on the final lap.
The MotoGP will continue from August 28 to 30 with the Aragón Grand Prix in Spain.

The race began with Raúl Fernández taking the lead in the opening meters, followed by Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez. Pole-sitter Jorge Martín dropped to fourth, followed by Ai Ogura. Diogo Moreira dropped to 17th, while Alex Rins and Joan Mir crashed on the opening lap at Silverstone.
On the opening lap, Álex Márquez overtook Ogura to move into the top five, but the Japanese rider struck back shortly after, returning to fifth. Martín, in turn, regained third place after passing Marc Márquez on the second lap.
Ogura, struggling, was eventually overtaken by Acosta and Álex Márquez, dropping to seventh. At the front, Fernández extended his lead to 1.8 seconds over Bezzecchi, the second-place rider. Further back, Moreira was in 16th place, close to Enea Bastianini and Iker Lecuona. On the fourth lap, Álex Márquez overtook Acosta and moved up to fifth.
With five laps to go, Fernández stretched his advantage to three seconds over Bezzecchi. Bastianini crashed at turn 17, allowing Moreira to enter the points in 15th. On lap six, Lecuona crashed at turn 12, letting the Brazilian gain another position.
Marc Márquez faded and was overtaken by Álex Márquez and Pedro Acosta, dropping to sixth. On lap seven, Cal Crutchlow crashed at turn 6. A lap later, Francesco Bagnaia crashed at turn 7 at Silverstone, becoming another retirement from the British Grand Prix.
On lap nine, Martín passed Bezzecchi to take second place, 4.7 seconds behind Fernández, the race leader. The Italian from Aprilia soon came under pressure from Álex Márquez, who made the overtake on the same lap. At the start of the tenth lap, Ai Ogura crashed out of the race.
Acosta again overtook Álex Márquez, taking fourth place on lap ten after the Gresini rider made an error at the first corner. At the front, Fernández continued to lead, but Martín started closing the gap, reducing it to 4.1 seconds by the end of lap 12.
Álex Márquez regained fourth by overtaking Acosta on lap 12, extending his advantage over the rival. Behind them, Moreira passed Jack Miller to take 12th. Up ahead, Martín sought to reduce Fernández’s margin, but the race leader upped the pace and prevented any attempt at a comeback.
With five laps remaining, Moreira passed Fabio Quartararo to claim 11th. Martín again reduced Fernández’s lead, bringing the gap to 3.3 seconds by the end of lap 16. Álex Márquez launched an attack on Bezzecchi with four laps to go.
Fabio Di Giannantonio overtook Marc Márquez on lap 18, taking sixth place. In the mid-pack, Luca Marini overtook Franco Morbidelli to take ninth. Even as Martín shaved the deficit, Fernández continued to push for the win in England, followed by Martín and Bezzecchi. There was still time for Moreira to pass Morbidelli to finish tenth.
