Senna Agius clinched pole position on Saturday (12) for the San Marino Grand Prix, the 14th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the closing phase of qualifying held this morning at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy, the Intact GP rider, who had already been the quickest in Friday’s practice, posted a lap of 1:33.718, earning the top honor.
Second on the grid was Daniel Holgado, the Aspar rider who ended up 0.193 seconds behind Agius. The front row also features Ángel Piqueras, the third-fastest on a MSI-mounted machine. David Muñoz, from Italtrans, starts fourth, followed by Manuel González, the championship leader and Intact GP rider, and Collin Veijer, sixth aboard the Ajo.
Tony Arbolino took seventh place aboard a Fantic Racing bike, opening a third row that will also feature his teammate Barry Baltus and Filip Salac of the American Racing Team. Alonso López, of Gresini, starts from tenth, followed by Iván Ortolá, 11th with MSI. Joe Roberts, riding for the American Racing Team, completes the top 12.
Izán Guevara, who set the eighth-fastest time in qualifying, was penalized six positions for riding too slowly on the track for the second time this season, and will start from 14th. Alberto Ferrández and David Alonso suffered a crash and did not complete laps in Q2.
The San Marino Moto2 Grand Prix will be held this Sunday (the 13th), with the start scheduled for 7:15 a.m.
