Vitor Genz claimed the victory in Race 1 of the fourth round of NASCAR Brasil’s 2026 season this Sunday (the 28th), at Velocitta Raceway in Mogi Guaçu, São Paulo, after overtaking Gabriel Casagrande in the closing seconds of the event. Casagrande, who had taken the lead early in the race, finished in second place, while Galid Osman completed the podium.
As soon as the start was given, Thiago Camilo launched a strong move to hold the lead, with Gabriel Casagrande right behind. The opening lap passed without incident. The two used the moment to open a gap over the rest of the field.
Further back, Nicolas Costa moved from sixth to fifth place, overtaking Gui Backes and Arthur Gama. Meanwhile, Vitor Genz closed in on Galid Osman to challenge for third place. The two ran side by side and Genz claimed the position. Subsequently, Gama also overtook Backes.
At the opening of the third lap, Casagrande managed to dive inside the circuit and take the lead. In tenth, Ricardo Zonta pressured Firás Fahs and moved up to ninth, but the rookie recovered shortly thereafter.
The race continued at a strong pace over the following minutes, with Casagrande widening his advantage over Camilo, while Genz closed in on his teammate. At the start of the seventh lap, Genz moved into second place.
With eight minutes remaining on the clock, Gama managed to return to fifth place by overtaking Costa.
A few minutes later it was Juninho Berlanda’s turn to overtake Alfredinho Ibiapina for 12th position. Up front, Osman moved on Camilo and secured the third place.
In the final stretch, Casagrande came under pressure from Genz and was overtaken in the closing seconds of the race. Genz secured the win, with Casagrande and Osman rounding out the podium. Gama finished fourth, followed by Camilo and Costa. Cacá Bueno finished seventh, accompanied by Ricardo Zonta and Gui Backes. Juninho Berlanda completed the top-10.
NASCAR Brasil also stages Race 2 of the weekend at Velocitta on Sunday, starting at 14:15.
