Driver who defends the AMattheis Vogel team in the 2026 NASCAR Brasil season, Gabriel Casagrande clinched third place in the Sprint Race held on the night of this Friday (31) at the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso, in Cuiabá, which hosts the championship’s fifth round. After ranking among the fastest in the first round of qualifying, the Paraná native remained among the leaders in the race that defined the pole position, and will start from the second row.
After making adjustments between the free practice sessions, the owner of car number 83 headed to qualifying, where he did two flying laps to secure, on his second lap, the third-best time, earning a spot for the weekend’s shorter race. Shortly after, Casagrande completed the five-lap race in third place, a position from which he will start in the Saturday race in the Mato Grosso capital.
“We will start from the third position this Saturday. We made a few adjustments to the car between the practice sessions. In qualifying I managed the third-fastest time, and we kept that position in the Sprint Race. In the race, the trend is that no one will break away, and we’ll have to keep a calm head to tackle a race on an outer loop where battles are constant,” said Gabriel Casagrande, whose sponsors include Jupiter Batteries, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet and OMP.
The NASCAR Brasil stage in Cuiabá will take place this Saturday (the 1st), with a start at 6:00 PM Brasília time. The event, which will consist of two segments, will be broadcast live on ESPN, Disney+ and YouTube.
