In one of the most tumultuous qualifying sessions at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in Italy, the Hitech driver recorded a best time of 1min32s390, which was not surpassed by his opponents.
The second position went to Richard Verschoor, driver of MP Motorsport, who hit the wall in the final moments of qualifying and was surpassed by 0s315 by Browning. Kush Maini, from DAMS, was the third fastest, and will share the second row with Roman Stanek, driver of Invicta. Oliver Goethe, from MP Motorsport, completes the list of the top five.
Alexander Dunne, with a Rodin car, finished qualifying with the sixth best time, while Arvid Lindblad, from Campos Racing, was seventh in qualifying. Joshua Durksen, driver of AIX Racing, finished the session in eighth, with Leonardo Fornaroli, who had problems with the Invicta car, in ninth. Sami Meguetounif, from Trident, was tenth and will start at the front in the Sprint.
The session featured a red flag with 17 minutes remaining. Gabriele Mini had problems with the Prema car and stopped on the track, causing the interruption. At the same time, Cian Shields had the same problem. Later, a new red flag was raised with 12 minutes remaining after problems with Leonardo Fornaroli’s Invicta car.
In the final moments of qualifying, Richard Verschoor lost control of the MP Motorsport car and hit the wall with two minutes remaining in the session. As a result, the definition of the starting positions was not restarted.
