F3: Pedro Clerot Secures P2 in Austria with Final-Lap Double Overtake

June 27, 2026

The Brazilian Pedro Clerot secured his second podium of the 2026 Formula 3 season in the early hours of Saturday morning (27), finishing the Sprint in second place at the Red Bull Ring, the venue hosting the championship’s fourth round. The Rodin Motorsport driver executed a bold double overtake on the final lap to seal the result, his best performance so far in this early phase of his journey in the category.

Clerot started from third on the grid and spent all 23 laps in the lead group that vied for the top spot. Driving car number 17, he battled for a place on the podium and attempted one of the boldest maneuvers on the final lap, passing not one but two rivals to claim second place.

“I did not expect a double overtake, but in the end James (Wharton) didn’t have DRS, and that gave me an advantage. So I’m happy to have executed the overtake and I’m happy with the podium,” Clerot said shortly after the race in Austria.

“I had a pace that was better than my rivals, but with everyone having DRS, overtakes become tougher. When you have clean air, you can show your pace. I think it was a good race,” said Pedro Clerot, who campaigns with Banco BRB as a sponsor.

Following the Sprint result, Clerot moved up to ninth in the championship standings, collecting 25 points. The driver has two podiums and four top-10 finishes in the 2026 Formula 3 season.
