Murilo Rocha reaches the sixth stage of NASCAR Brasil, which takes place from August 21 to 23 in Londrina, Paraná, in search of new points and the continuation of his development in the championship, where he leads among the rookies.
The Sorocaba-born driver had a positive showing in the night leg in Cuiabá. In the Sprint Race, Murilo started from sixth position and finished the first segment of the race in third. Although he did not cross the finish line, the result secured important points for his championship bid.
With the points earned in the Central-West, the driver moved up from 10th to 9th place in the overall standings. In the Challenge, he rose from fourth to third, while continuing to lead the rookies’ table.
For the Londrina round, Murilo will have as an asset the prior knowledge of the circuit. During the preseason tests, the driver piloted the Full Time Ford Mustang #55 on the Paraná track. The experience could prove important in a decisive phase of the calendar, especially because his most notable results of the season occurred at Interlagos and Velocitta, circuits he had already known during his journey to finish second in the F4 Brasil championship last year.
“I am very motivated to continue the season of learning and evolution with the Full Time team. It will be interesting to return to Londrina and compare this week’s performance with the point where I was when I first got behind the wheel of the car. The calendar is moving toward its final phase, and I hope to keep delivering results for Mobil and finish my rookie year by contending for the Rookie of the Year title and the other championships in dispute,” Murilo Rocha stated.
The schedule for the sixth stage of NASCAR Brasil starts on Friday (21), with the first free practice. On Saturday, the second free practice and the qualifying take place. The two races of the stage will be held on Sunday, closing the event. The races will be broadcast on the category’s official channels.
