On Sunday the 7th, Nikola Tsolov won the main race of the fourth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held on the Monte Carlo street circuit in Monaco. The Bulgarian Campos Racing driver spent most of the race in second place, but moved to the lead after Rafael Câmara retired and after Kush Maini, who had delayed his pit stop, changed tires on the penultimate lap of the 42-lap race.
Alexander Dunne, a Rodin Motorsport driver, finished in second place, five seconds behind Tsolov. Dino Beganovic, in a DAMS car, completed the podium with third after overtaking Maini on the final lap, leaving ART Grand Prix’s Kush Maini in fourth. Martinius Stenshorne, for Rodin, completed the top five.
Ritomo Miyata, driving for Hitech, crossed the finish line in sixth, followed by Emmo Fittipaldi, seventh for AIX Racing after starting from 19th position. Sebastian Montoya, for Prema, was eighth, while Noel León, Sprint winner on Saturday, finished ninth with Campos Racing. Roman Bilinski, for DAMS, completed the top ten.
The race featured only a single Virtual Safety Car deployment, triggered after Câmara, who started from pole, went straight on at a corner while battling for the lead with Tsolov one lap after his pit stop for a tire change. The Invicta driver led the fight up to lap 35 of the 42 laps, and could not rejoin the track, retiring.
The Formula 2 season continues the 2026 campaign next weekend, when it visits the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain for the fifth round of the championship.
