Noel León secured the victory in the feature race on Sunday the 26th, the ninth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. The Campos Racing driver started from third on the grid, gained one position at the start, and grabbed the lead after the pit stops, benefiting from a tire change during a Virtual Safety Car and thereby ensuring the win.
Kush Maini, driving for ART Grand Prix, finished in second place after starting from pole position, but his result is under investigation due to a possible pit-stop infringement. Brazilian Rafael Câmara, for Invicta Racing, completed the podium in third, followed by Laurens van Hoepen in fourth for Trident. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, also with ART Grand Prix, closed the top five.
Dino Beganovic, in a DAMS car, ended in sixth, just ahead of Nikola Tsolov, the championship leader who finished seventh with Campos Racing. Joshua Durksen of Invicta Racing was eighth, while Gabriele Mini of MP Motorsport took ninth. John Bennett of Trident completed the top ten. Emmo Fittipaldi ended up 18th with AIX Racing.
The race featured only one incident over its 37 laps. Rafael Villagómez, the Van Amersfoort Racing driver, stopped on track with a problem, triggering the Virtual Safety Car on lap 17. It was at this moment that León pitted, just before the field was neutralized.
The Formula 2 calendar will take a summer break and resume on September 4–6 with the Italian round at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
