F1 Singapore Grand Prix: Russell Recreates Hamilton’s 2018 Iconic Photo After Victory

October 6, 2025

George Russell paid homage to Lewis Hamilton after winning the Singapore Grand Prix in Formula 1. The competitor recreated a photo taken by the seven-time champion after his victory in the 2018 season.

Last Sunday (5), the current Mercedes driver made the most of his pole position. With a dominant performance on the streets of Marina Bay, he secured his second win of the championship and the fifth of his career in F1.

Then, in a moment of celebration on social media, he recreated a photo that Lewis had taken seven years ago, writing about how he remembered that moment watching the seven-time champion’s performance and how happy he was to be able to celebrate now with his team his own victory.

“In 2018, I was here with Mercedes watching Lewis conquer an insane pole position and win. I remember seeing him take a really cool photo on the circuit after the victory and me dreaming of being in F1. Seven years later, it’s a special moment for me to win here in Singapore and celebrate the moment with my team”, he wrote.
