F1 Mexican Grand Prix: Lando Norris Downplays Boos After Victory, Says “They Can Do What They Want”

October 27, 2025

Lando Norris was not fazed by the booing he received after winning the Mexican Grand Prix of Formula 1. After the race, the competitor explained that if the fans want to do so, they are free to do it.

The new leader of the championship dominated the 71 laps of the race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Not only that, but he also crossed the finish line with a 30-second advantage over the rest of the pack, the largest margin so far in the 2025 season.

However, after the checkered flag, when he was about to give an interview alongside the other podium finishers, the grandstand united to boo the competitor.

Norris explained that he did not understand the reason behind the spectators’ behavior. “I don’t know the reason, to be honest,” he commented later to the press.

“People can do what they want, honestly. They have the right to do it if they want to. So, I think that’s just the way it is in sports sometimes,” he added.
