Charles Leclerc left the Mexican Grand Prix qualifying feeling less than satisfied. This Saturday (the 31st), the Monégasque driver secured third on the starting grid, trailing Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
The Ferrari driver from Monaco had briefly appeared at the sharp end, but was first overtaken by the British Mercedes driver and then by his teammate, finishing 0.119 seconds off pole.

In reviewing his session, he acknowledged that he hadn’t delivered his best performance, but it remains something to celebrate to be able to step out of the second row at the Hermanos Rodríguez. “I simply didn’t do a good job,” he said.
“During the out-laps from the pits, it was very difficult to bring the tyres into the optimal temperature window. That’s where we face the most trouble. I couldn’t get the job done when I needed to. I’m disappointed, but starting third here, I don’t think that’s too bad,” he added.
