Charles Leclerc enjoyed a flawless Sunday at the 2026 British Grand Prix in Formula 1. In addition to clinching his first victory of the season, the Ferrari driver was also chosen by fans as Driver of the Day in the official vote run by the sport.
The Monégasque started from second on the grid, surged to the lead at the first corner, and controlled the race until the checkered flag, securing his ninth win of his career. The performance ended a spell during which he had been overshadowed by his teammate, Lewis Hamilton.
In the fans’ vote, Leclerc gathered 26.8% of the votes, narrowly ahead of Hamilton, who finished the race in third and captured 19% of the public’s preference. Max Verstappen placed third in the poll, with 16% of the votes.
The Sprint winner and championship leader, Kimi Antonelli, ended fourth in the fans’ vote with 11.8%, while George Russell completed the Top 5 with 4.5% of the votes.

The vote highlights Leclerc’s impact at Silverstone. After taking the lead right at the start, the Ferrari driver retained control of the race and climbed back to the top of the podium for the first time this season, a performance that also earned him public recognition in Formula 1’s traditional official vote.
