The Formula 2 season will come to a close this weekend with the 14th and final round, set to take place at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. With the championship already secured by Leonardo Fornaroli, the focus is on the vice-championship and the title of the best team of the year in the Formula 1 feeder category.
Fornaroli secured the title in Lusail, Qatar, after reaching 211 points. Jak Crawford and Richard Verschoor are tied for second place with 170 points, while Luke Browning, with 162 points, is in fourth place. Alexander Dunne, with 149 points, also has a chance to finish the year as vice-champion.
Among the teams, Invicta, Fornaroli’s team, leads the standings with 296 points, while Hitech is in second place with 261 points. Campos Racing, with 239 points, occupies third place and closes the list of teams that can finish the championship this year with the title.
The schedule at the Yas Marina circuit will begin this Friday with a free practice session and qualifying, which will determine the starting positions for the two races of the weekend. The Sprint will start at 9:15 AM on Saturday, while the race that closes the championship is scheduled for 6:15 AM on Sunday. BandSports will show the complete schedule.
