In a significant move, the newly-formed Cadillac team, backed by General Motors, has announced a strategic partnership with Tenneco, a global leader in technological solutions for the automotive industry. The agreement, described as a long-term technical partnership, aims to ensure maximum performance and reliability for the team as it makes its debut in Formula 1 in 2026.
With over 125 years of history, Tenneco has been a supplier to automotive giants such as Ford, GM, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar Land Rover, as well as Stellantis group brands like Citroën and Jeep. This long-standing collaboration with General Motors has enabled Tenneco to develop high-performance systems in key areas, including propulsion, suspension performance, and clean air technologies.
For the Cadillac team, Tenneco will be responsible for providing a range of critical products and systems for performance, including advanced technologies for powertrain and ignition, essential for ensuring high-level reliability and performance in racing.
Tyler Epp, responsible for Cadillac’s commercial strategy, highlighted the importance of strong partnerships for future success: “As we approach our debut at the 2026 Australian GP, we need partners who share our desire to build a strong foundation for long-term success. Tenneco is a proven partner, focused on working side by side with our technical teams to deliver high-quality and reliable components,” he said.
Jim Voss, CEO of Tenneco, also emphasized the company’s commitment to being a trusted partner to ensure the performance, execution, and victory of the Cadillac team in Formula 1: “Our goal is to be the most reliable partner to perform, execute, and win,” he added.
