Gabriel Casagrande Secures NASCAR Brasil’s First-Ever Pole Position in Chapecó

October 31, 2026

The driver who defends AMattheis Vogel in NASCAR Brasil, Gabriel Casagrande, clinched this Saturday (31) the pole position for the penultimate stage of the 2026 season. In the qualifying held on the oval circuit at Chapecó International Autodrome (SC), the Paraná native nailed his best of two laps the time of 37.171 seconds, earning the category’s historic top spot in Santa Catarina.

Casagrande was the fastest in the lone free practice on Friday, and he also showed strong performance in this morning’s session. In qualifying, each driver had the right to two quick laps on the 1,452-meter oval located in western Santa Catarina, and the driver of car number 83, who was among the last to head out onto the track, posted the quickest lap.

“I knew I had a good car, and of course we were fortunate to have a run of laps at the end, but that was achieved thanks to the excellent training sessions we conducted. So I can only thank the team for giving me this great car and for the work they did,” said Gabriel Casagrande, who is sponsored by Jupiter Batteries, Axalta, Cresol, OnPetro, STP, RP Info, UFI Filters and Aeropark Camboriú.

“I think this marks the start of a project we still need to convert this pole into victories; there are many points at stake, and a track that will certainly offer plenty of duels and overtakes. I am very happy, very satisfied, and I believe it was a good start to the weekend,” Casagrande added.

NASCAR Brasil will host three races this Sunday, set for 9:00, 14:05 and 14:30. SBT, ESPN, Disney+ and YouTube will broadcast the event.
