Three-time NASCAR Brasil Special Edition champion, Gabriel Casagrande, stood out with MCM Racing in his Bristol debut on Thursday night, the 17th, finishing his ARCA Menards Series (AMS) participation inside the top 15. The driver started 20th in the No. 38 Toyota Camry and demonstrated a rapid adaptation to both the car and the traditional North American oval track, climbing five positions by the end of the race.
“We finished 15th in our ARCA debut after 200 laps at Bristol. I’m pleased with what we accomplished. It’s not easy to come in and compete against the best in the U.S. in a championship-deciding race and on a track that, according to them, is the toughest I could face,” Casagrande said, who raced with the support of Aeropark Camboriú, Jupiter Batteries, and Raumak Packaging.
Due to the test in the United States, Casagrande will participate in the NASCAR Brasil activities in Curvelo only starting this Saturday, but he arrives quite excited to the interior of Minas Gerais to defend the lead in the national category after another international experience.
“The objective was to learn as much as possible, bring the car home in one piece, and show that we can be there too. Thanks to everyone for the support and for the cheering. We’ll wait for the next steps, and I’m already on the road to pursuing a good result in Curvelo to stay at the top of the NASCAR Brasil championship,” Casagrande concluded.
The NASCAR Brasil standings in Curvelo will be contested starting at 3:15 p.m. this Saturday. Race 1 will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, and Race 2 is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. on the same day. SBT, ESPN, Disney+, and YouTube will broadcast the event.
