The familiar orange Jaegermeister hues are set to grace a BMW race car once more, unveiled as the newest livery for Anthony McIntosh’s BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
This particular design traces back to BMW’s touring cars of the 1970s and rapidly grew to symbolize the brand’s racing machines, with famed drivers such as Niki Lauda and Hans-Joachim Stuck piloting a 3.0 CSL ‘Batmobile’ and a 320 Group 5 car in the same striking livery.
Today, the look informs the newest entry in the rotating lineup of color schemes used by WRT’s No. 69 BMW, the car McIntosh races alongside Dan Harper and Parker Thompson for the Fuji round on September 27.
WRT described the livery as being “synonymous with an era of bold colors, big wings and even bigger characters — something that rings true with the No. 69 trio.”
McIntosh announced at the outset of the season that the car would carry a distinct tribute livery at every one of the eight rounds of the World Endurance Championship.
So far this year, other alternate schemes have included a Tic Tac-inspired motif for the Imola season opener and a BMW Parts-themed design at Spa.
