Driver for the AMattheis Vogel team in NASCAR Brasil, Gabriel Casagrande won this Sunday (23) the second race of the seventh stage of the 2026 season, held at the Ayrton Senna International Circuit in Londrina, Paraná. The owner of car number 83 staged a double overtake on the final lap of the race to secure his fourth victory of the year.
In the day’s opening race, Casagrande had already shown strength by crossing the finish line in third place, just seven tenths of a second behind the winner. Hours later, one of the competitors ahead of him was disqualified, and the Paraná native moved up to second place. In the race that closed the stage, Casagrande was consistently in the mix for the victory, but he only took the lead on the final lap, overtaking two rivals to claim first.

“The weekend could not have been better; it was very positive. With 25 kilograms of ballast for the runner-up position at the start of the stage, we had a heavier car, but we competed on equal terms. There were faster cars, but, thanks to the drafting that the cars create, we stayed in the fight. I’m happy with what we achieved, with the second places in the Sprint and in Race 1, and the victory in Race 2,” Casagrande said.
“The victory in the main race, in the manner it happened, on the final lap, using the boost to execute the overtake and clinch the win. Winning on the last lap tastes even sweeter. And now we extend the championship lead. I’m satisfied with that, and we head to Curvelo for the end of the regular season very excited. We continue building our championship, and the goal is to become champion,” added Gabriel Casagrande, who is sponsored by Jupiter Batteries, Axalta, Cresol, OnPetro, STP, RP Info, UFI Filters and Aeropark Camboriú.
The NASCAR Brasil will resume on September 20, when the seventh stage will be held at the Circuito dos Cristais in Curvelo (MG).
