A young breakout star of NASCAR Brasil, Tito Giaffone shone this weekend by leading more than 50 laps in the NASCAR Pro Late Model at New Smyrna, in Florida, United States. The Brazilian driver capped his first participation on an oval track in second place and endorsed the experience of piloting car 96 for the NEXUS Racing team.
“I am very pleased with this, my first oval race and also my first test in the United States. I managed to lead for most of the race, even opening a small gap at the front while racing with very experienced oval drivers. I ended up moving into second place with three laps to go, but it was an incredible experience and I am very excited about perhaps returning someday,” Tito said, who is supported by PX and PPG.

Tito qualified sixth in the time trials and, after the grid inversion, started from the pole for the 60-lap race. This marked the driver’s first international experience in cars as part of NASCAR Brasil’s Driver Development program.
“I would like to thank this NASCAR Brasil exchange, Thiago (Marques) and my family who were with me, helping a lot with this adaptation in the United States.” Tito now returns to Brazil to compete in the NASCAR Brasil round in Londrina (PR) this weekend for Giaffone Mission Zero.
The activities will open this Friday (21) with an extra session and the first free practice. The schedule continues on Saturday with the second practice and the classification race starting at 14:10. The Sprint Race, featuring the six best qualifiers, is scheduled for 14:45 on the same day. The two races will be held on Sunday, with the first at 9:00 a.m. and the second at 14:05.
