Pilot in his second season in NASCAR Brasil, Cacá Bueno demonstrated his capacity to rebound throughout the fifth round of the championship, held on the outer oval of the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso, in Cuiabá. The owner of car number 0 from Team RC started from second position and was among the leaders when he spun in the opening stage of the race. In the final stage, the ten-time national champion advanced nine positions and finished 12th.
After showing strength in the classification and in the Sprint Race, when he finished second, Cacá stayed with the leaders throughout the early part of the opening stage. With 15 minutes into the race, however, a spin sidelined the driver from the contest. Returning to the final stage, a brake failure limited the possibilities of a good result, even with the advance through the field during the final 25 minutes of the race.
“The weekend started well with a second place in the classification and in the Sprint Race, which yielded good points for the championship. But in the main race, I have to apologize to the team, because I made a mistake. When I had Denis Navarro beside me, braking on the dirty side, I lost the rear of the car. The car has that quirk and I should have been more careful. I clipped the curb when I took the inside line, loaded the tire and spun,” said Cacá.
“I managed to return to the race, but I lost the brakes, first the front ones. After a few laps, I was left without the rear brakes, the pedal went to the floor and I ended up cruising on the track and finished 12th. It’s a pity, because the car had the pace to contend for a podium in both races,” concluded Cacá Bueno, who is sponsored by Betnacional, Capital Concreto, PicPay, ACDelco, SpeedMax Tires, Pneu Store, Milwaukee, Turbi and Chevrolet.
The NASCAR Brasil season continues in 2026 on August 22 and 23, when it visits the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, in Londrina (PR), for the sixth round of the year, and the penultimate before the playoffs that will crown the title.
