F2: Tsolov Leads Sole Free Practice at Spa-Francorchamps

Nikola Tsolov was the fastest driver in the only free practice session for the eighth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, scheduled to take place at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. The Bulgarian driver for Campos Racing, currently leading the championship, posted a best lap time of 1m58.927s on his fastest lap during the session held on Friday morning (the 17th).

Second place went to Martinius Stenshorne, the Rodin Motorsport driver who was edged by 0.199 seconds. Nico Varrone, behind the wheel of a Van Amersfoort car, claimed the third-fastest time, followed by Roman Bilinski in fourth for DAMS. Completing the top five was Noel León, representing Campos Racing.

Kush Maini completed the session with the sixth-best time in an ART Grand Prix car, ahead of John Bennett, seventh with Trident. Brazilian Rafael Câmara, driving for Invicta Racing, finished the session eighth, with Laurens van Hoepen of Trident in ninth. Gabriele Mini of MP Motorsport completed the top-10.

The Brazilian Emmo Fittipaldi delivered a more modest performance in the free practice, ending the session in 19th place with a car prepared by AIX Racing. Meanwhile Alexander Dunne, who is challenging for the title with Rodin Motorsport, also had a quiet showing, finishing 21st out of 22 competitors.

From 10:55 a.m., the qualifying session will determine the starting grid for the weekend’s two Spa races. The Sprint is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, while Sunday features the main race, starting at 5:00 a.m.
