The Spanish rider Marc Márquez won this Sunday (12) the German Grand Prix, the 11th round of the 2026 MotoGP season, held at the Sachsenring circuit. The Ducati rider and current world champion started from pole position and led all 30 laps of the race to seal his third victory of the year.
The second position went to Ai Ogura, Trackhouse’s Aprilia rider who engaged in a strong duel with Raúl Fernández, his teammate who finished the race in third, completing the podium. Pedro Acosta, aboard a KTM, finished the race in fourth, while Jorge Martín, from Aprilia, completed the group of the five best.

Francesco Bagnaia, riding a Ducati, finished sixth after applying pressure on Martín in the final laps. Fabio Quartararo, on a Yamaha, claimed seventh, with Luca Marini, aboard a Honda, in eighth. Enea Bastianini, on a Tech3 KTM, finished ninth, while Brad Binder, on a KTM, closed the top 10. Diogo Moreira, on a LCR Honda, finished 11th.
MotoGP takes a break and will return on August 9 for the British Grand Prix, set to take place at the Silverstone circuit.
Take a look at how the race unfolded
The race began with Marc Márquez maintaining the lead in the opening meters, followed by Álex Márquez and Ai Ogura. Raúl Fernández moved up to fourth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, who slipped to fifth. Diogo Moreira held 17th position at the end of the first lap at Sachsenring.

By the end of the first lap, Fernández passed Ogura to reclaim third place, while Jorge Martín was sixth, close to Di Giannantonio. In the back half of the group, Moreira entered the points zone by moving up to 15th, gaining another position as he left Franco Morbidelli behind on the race’s third lap.
Pedro Acosta, in seventh, opened an attack on Martín, managing the overtake on the fourth lap. In the same lap, Di Giannantonio attacked Ogura when he crashed at turn 10, retiring from the race. In the middle of the pack, Joan Mir began applying pressure to Luca Marini in an internal Honda battle for tenth place on the sixth lap.
Márquez held the lead of the race on the seventh lap, always closely followed by Álex Márquez. Joan Mir, in 11th, tumbled the Honda at the final corner of the circuit, leaving the race. By the end of the ninth lap, Álex Márquez also crashed at turn 13, becoming another retirement and giving Márquez a 1.3-second advantage over Fernández, the second-placed rider.
Moreira began trading blows with Brad Binder for tenth place on the 11th lap. Ogura, in third and looking to close on Fernández, came under pressure from Acosta a lap later. The race reached its halfway point with Márquez leading, 1.5 seconds ahead of Fernández. Ogura, Acosta and Martín completed the top five, while Moreira stood 11th.
Cal Crutchlow, aboard an LCR Honda, entered the points zone by overtaking Toprak Razgatlioglu on the 15th lap. Up front, Márquez stretched his lead to two seconds over Fernández, who was now under pressure from Ogura and Acosta. Moreira remained 11th as the race entered its 20th lap.
On the 22nd lap, Crutchlow crashed the Honda at turn 3, removing him from contention. Two laps later, Ogura attempted to pass Fernández but watched his Trackhouse teammate cling to second. In the following lap the Japanese rider finally seized the second position. Further back, Enea Bastianini passed Moreira and Binder to take tenth place.
Moreira recovered the 11th position by overtaking Jack Miller, while Ogura began to dial down Márquez’s advantage, albeit gradually, as Márquez went on to win the race.
