In the session that closed activities at the Sachsenring circuit, the Ducati rider posted on his best lap a time of 1 minute 19.394 seconds, also securing a direct place into Q2 of the classification.

Ai Ogura, aboard a Trackhouse Aprilia, finished the session in sixth place, ahead of the championship leader and official Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi, who was seventh fastest. Jorge Martín, also with Aprilia, was eighth, while Pedro Acosta, on a KTM, was ninth. The tenth position went to Franco Morbidelli.

The only Brazilian on the 2026 MotoGP grid for the season, Diogo Moreira had a modest showing on this Friday’s practice. The LCR-prepared Honda posted the 17th fastest time in the day’s second session. Thus, the rider of bike number 11 will have to go through the opening phase of the classification.

The schedule at Sachsenring will continue on Saturday (11), first with a free practice at 5:10 a.m., and then with qualifying scheduled for 5:50 a.m. The Sprint takes place on the same day at 10 a.m. The German Grand Prix has a race start set for 9 a.m. on Sunday.
