F1: Williams Unveils Special Livery for the British Grand Prix

June 29, 2026

Williams has unveiled a special livery to contest this weekend’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Inspired by the flag of the United Kingdom, the design will be used only at Silverstone and is part of the team’s celebrations for its home race.

The car will feature red, white, and blue details on the nose and the sides of the chassis. In addition to the exclusive livery, Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will wear customized racing suits, while the trackside team members will don a commemorative uniform produced by New Era, the British team’s official partner. Fans will also be able to purchase the special product collection developed for the British round.

Silverstone holds a prominent place in Williams’ history. It was at the circuit that the team claimed its first victory in 1979, with Clay Regazzoni at the wheel of the FW07, and it also reached its 100th victory in Formula 1, with Jacques Villeneuve, in 1997. In total, Williams has eight wins at the track, including three by Nigel Mansell, in addition to the memorable moment when the Briton gave Ayrton Senna a ride on the sidepod of his car after winning the 1991 race by a wide margin.

The celebrations also include a series of activities designed to bring the team closer to fans during the week of the British Grand Prix. Williams will take a show car featuring the special livery to Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, and London. In the English capital, fans will be able to visit the team’s Fan Zone for free, featuring appearances by Alex Albon, James Vowles, and Damon Hill, in addition to partner activations and the sale of official merchandise.

James Vowles, Williams’ F1 team principal, highlighted the importance of the Silverstone round. “We are proud to represent our colors at the British Grand Prix. Silverstone has hosted some of the most iconic moments in Williams’ history, from our first to our hundredth victory. There is nothing equal to the atmosphere of the home crowd in Formula 1, and we feel that energy throughout the weekend,” he said.
