Noel León clinched pole position this Friday (26) for the sixth round of Formula 2. In the qualifying session held this morning at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the Mexican driver for Campos Racing surged on his final flying lap, posting a 1:15.544 and watching his rivals falter, securing the top spot for Sunday.

Second place went to Alexander Dunne, a Rodin Motorsport driver who was edged by León by 0.129 seconds. Nikola Tsolov, also with Campos Racing, was the third fastest, while Gabriele Mini, the championship leader and MP Motorsport driver, was fourth. The top five was completed by Brazilian Rafael Câmara of Invicta Racing.
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, driving for ART Grand Prix, posted the sixth-best time in the qualifying session, while Oliver Goethe, who topped the free practice, finished seventh with MP Motorsport. Rafael Villagómez, of Van Amersfoort, starts eighth, just ahead of John Bennett, in a Trident. Sebastian Montoya, of Prema, was tenth and will lead the Sprint.
Another Brazilian on the Formula 2 grid, Emmo Fittipaldi delivered a rather modest performance in the qualifying held at the Spielberg circuit. The AIX Racing driver posted the 18th time and will line up on the ninth row for both races of the weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
The Formula 2 timetable will continue on Saturday (27) with the Sprint, scheduled for 9:15. The Austrian round will be concluded on Sunday with the main race, scheduled for 5:10.
