June 21, 2026

Iván Ortolá clinched a dramatic victory on Sunday morning (the 21st) at the Czech Grand Prix, the ninth round of the 2026 Moto2 season. The MSI rider remained in second place throughout the entire race run at the Brno circuit, but he overtook David Alonso on the final corner of the last lap to secure his first win of the year.

The runner-up spot went to Alonso, a rider for Aspar who crossed the line just 0.096 seconds behind Ortolá. Filip Salac, racing for American Racing Team in his home Grand Prix, completed the podium in third. Senna Agius, on an Intact GP bike, finished fourth, while his teammate and championship leader Manuel González ended the race in fifth.

Izan Guevara, the Pramac rider, ended the race in sixth, just ahead of Daniel Holgado, seventh for Aspar. Joe Roberts, from American Racing Team, completed the top eight, while Celestino Vietti, of SpeedRS, took ninth. José Antonio Rueda, from Ajo, completed the list of the ten best.

After the Czech round, González remains at the top of the standings, with 165.5 points, ahead of Guevara on 115 in second. Vietti is third with 109, followed by Agius in fourth with 107. Alonso completes the top five with 91 points.

The Moto2 class returns to the track next weekend for the Dutch Grand Prix, set at the Assen circuit.
