F1: Leclerc Admits Difficulties at Ferrari Ahead of Monaco Qualifying

June 6, 2026

Charles Leclerc closed Friday’s free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix acknowledging that Ferrari still needs to evolve in several areas, but showing confidence for qualifying. The Monegasque was the second-fastest of the day, just 0.111 seconds behind his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. Despite the closeness to the lead, Leclerc assessed that the team’s work is far from finished.

“It was a complicated day, with some work ahead, especially regarding the balance of the brakes,” he said. The driver highlighted that the main concern relates to the car’s setup. “But I love this track and it’s good to be back racing here,” he declared.

“Qualifying tomorrow will be very tight, so I hope we can move forward and fight for pole position.”

With qualifying traditionally regarded as the weekend’s most important session, Leclerc believes Ferrari can still find the gains needed to contest pole on the grid: “Qualifying tomorrow will be very tight, so I hope we can take a step forward and fight for pole position.”

The Monegasque’s expectation now is that the work done overnight will allow Ferrari to find the final adjustments to turn the solid practice performance into a real bid for pole position on the streets of the Principality.

On Saturday, F1 continues its schedule in Monaco with another free practice at 7:30 a.m. The qualifying is scheduled for 11 a.m. F1MANIA.NET will follow all sessions in REAL TIME.
