A driver defending AMattheis Vogel in NASCAR Brasil, Gabriel Casagrande, demonstrated speed in the races that marked the third stage of the championship, held this Sunday (the 31st) at the Interlagos Autódromo in São Paulo (SP). The driver of car number 83 fought for the top positions in both races, but a penalty in the first event and a collision in the second prevented strong results in the capital of São Paulo.
“I was going very well after having the first race ruined by the penalty, in a moment that was my fault. I was climbing through the pack with a car that was very much in hand, even though I was a bit slow on speed, I took advantage of the tow and the crashes. Overtaking the third-placed, I took a hit on the front wheel and it broke. I dragged myself on the last lap and scored a point,” Gabriel Casagrande said, who is sponsored by Jupiter Batteries, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet and OMP.
“We’ll probably use today’s two races as drops, but I remain in the top-3 of the championship. So I still have some ballast. But one good thing is that Nicolas (Costa) is leading, with a fast car, so we know we have the potential to fight at the front,” Casagrande added, referring to his teammate at AMattheis Vogel.
After the stop at the Interlagos Autodrome, NASCAR Brasil continues in the state of São Paulo and will stage its fourth round on June 28, when it visits Velocitta, a racetrack located in Mogi Guaçu.
