But the world’s premier endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has announced the drivers and teams that will compete in this year’s edition, scheduled for June 13 and 14 at the La Sarthe circuit in France, and part of the WEC calendar. Once again, 62 cars will contest the event across three categories: Hypercar, LMP2, and LMGT3, featuring some of the world’s top drivers.
The Hypercar grid, the race’s flagship category, will again consist of 18 cars. While Porsche will not participate in the race, Le Mans 24 Hours will welcome Genesis, a team that regularly competes in the WEC and will embark on the marathon of a full day with two cars for its debut on a circuit more than 13 kilometers long.
In addition to Genesis, seven other manufacturers have been confirmed for the 2026 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans: Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, and Toyota. Among these, Ferrari has won the last three editions of the race, and Toyota is the only one present at every edition in the so-called “WEC era.”
The grid this year will include seven Brazilian participants. Pipo Derani is the sole representative in Hypercar, defending Genesis. In LMP2, Pietro Fittipaldi competes for Vector Sport, and Daniel Schneider for United Autosport. In LMGT3, Dudu Barrichello races for Heart of Racing with an Aston Martin, Augisto Farfus with a BMW from WRT, Daniel Serra with a Ferrari from Kessel, and Custódio Toledo with a Ferrari from AF Corse.
