The VR46 team unveiled on Wednesday morning (14) the motorcycle that will compete in the 2026 MotoGP season. At an event held in Rome, Italy, the team led by Valentino Rossi showcased the Ducatis that will be ridden by Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Di Giannantonio in the scheduled stages for this year, with new features in the layout.
Both Morbidelli’s Desmosedici GP25 and Di Giannantonio’s GP26 feature the fluorescent yellow color, but now include black and a red stripe on the sides, thanks to the team’s main sponsor, as well as a blue stripe near the base of the motorcycle. The riders’ suits are also yellow and black for this season.
The team had prioritized having two GP26 motorcycles, the same model used by Ducati’s official team, but the costs of maintaining two such machines led the team to opt for keeping only one motorcycle with this specification. The second GP26 will go to Gresini, another Italian manufacturer’s satellite team.
In 2025, VR46 finished the MotoGP season as the third-best team in the championship, behind only Ducati’s factory team and Gresini. Di Giannantonio secured four podiums throughout the season after receiving an updated GP25, while Morbidelli completed top-3 finishes on two occasions.
The MotoGP preseason is scheduled for February 3, 4, and 5 in Sepang, Malaysia. The 2026 MotoGP season will begin on March 1, with the Thai GP.
