The main event of the Belgian stage of Formula 2 has a new winner: Roman Stanek. The Invicta driver, who completed the dispute on Sunday (27) in third position on the track in Spa-Francorchamps, inherited the first place after a penalty against Alexander Dunne, the winner on the track, and Arvid Lindblad, who was disqualified after finishing second.
Hours after the end of the dispute, Dunne was penalized by ten seconds for not following the starting procedures during the presentation lap. Lindblad then advanced to first place but was eventually disqualified for having tire pressure below the limit defined by Pirelli for the dispute that morning.
The result represents Stanek’s second victory in Formula 2 and his first in main races. With the changes in the final result of the test, Ritomo Miyata advanced to second place, while Luke Browning completed the podium with third place. Josep María Martí was fourth, with Leonardo Fornaroli completing the top-5.
Gabriele Mini closed the dispute with sixth place, followed by Dino Beganovic, who was seventh best with the new result. Victor Martins finished with eighth place, with Dunne, the winner on the track, falling to ninth place. Amaury Cordeel benefited from Lindblad’s disqualification and advanced to tenth place, scoring a point.
Formula 2 returns to the 2025 season already next week, with the dispute of the Hungarian stage, at the Hungaroring circuit.
