Roman Stanek Secures Pole Position in Abu Dhabi Formula 2 Championship Qualifying Session

Roman Stanek secured the pole position for the main race of the final round of the 2025 Formula 2 season. In the qualification held on Friday morning at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, the Invicta driver recorded a time of 1:36.836 in his best lap, which was not surpassed by his rivals.

The second position went to Jak Crawford, a DAMS driver who was surpassed by Stanek by 0.087 seconds. The champion of this season, Leonardo Fornaroli, will start from the third position with Invicta, sharing the second row with Dino Beganovic, who finished fourth with Hitech. The group of the top five on the grid will also include Sebastian Montoya from Prema.

Oliver Goethe, driving a car from MP Motorsport, will start from the sixth position, while Victor Martins from ART Grand Prix finished seventh, sharing the fourth row with Joshua Durksen, who finished eighth with AIX Racing. Nikola Tsolov and Arvid Lindblad, both drivers from Campos Racing, complete the list of the top ten. The new driver of Racing Bulls in F1 will start from the pole in the Sprint.

The Formula 2 series now turns its attention to the races. The Sprint is scheduled for 9:15 on Saturday, while the main event takes place on Sunday at 6:15.
