Rafael Câmara Seeks to Narrow the Gap to the F2 Leader After Four Wins and Eight Podiums at Spa-Francorchamps

July 15, 2026

Third in the Formula 2 standings this season, Rafael Câmara is aiming to narrow the gap to the leader this weekend at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Considered the favorite track by many drivers, the Brazilian has a notably positive record at the circuit located in the Ardennes region.

Câmara has collected four wins and eight podiums at the traditional 7 km circuit, all between 2022 and 2024, during the period when the Brazilian competed in the German and Italian F4 championships, as well as the European Formula Regional. There were three wins in the former FRECA, one in 2023 and two in 2024, in addition to a triumph in German F4, this one with a special flavor as it marked the driver’s first victory in European single-seaters after years of karting success.

The F2 activities in Spa start this Friday (the 17th) with the sole free practice at 6:05 in the morning. Qualifying is scheduled for 11:00 on the same day. Saturday foresees the Sprint race starting at 9:15, while the main race is due to start at 5:00 in the morning on Sunday. The full schedule will be shown on Sportv3, Globoplay and F1TV.
