Máximo Quiles is the new Moto3 world champion, after winning the Indonesian Grand Prix, the 17th round of the 2026 season, held at the Mandalika circuit. The Aspar rider took the lead early in the race, opened a gap, and, despite two mistakes and a track-limits warning, he rode to victory and sealed the championship.Quiles needed to win the race to clinch the title at his following “match point,” and he did not disappoint. The rider pulled away on the Indonesian track and triumphed for the tenth time in 17 races of the current season.

The second position went to David Almansa, Quiles’ main title rival, but he could not keep up with the pace set by the leader. Brian Uriarte completed the podium in third place after starting from pole position. Matteo Bertelle crossed the finish line in fourth, while Rico Salmela finished fifth.
Veda Pratama ended his home race in sixth place, ahead of Guido Pini in seventh, ahead of Adrian Fernández in eighth. Joel Esteban finished ninth, while Scott Ogden completed the top ten in Mandalika.In the third lap of the race, Casey O’Gorman and Leo Rammerstorfer crashed at turns 4 and 5 of the Mandalika circuit. Ryota Ogiwara was another to crash and exit the race. On lap 11, Álvaro Carpe fell while contesting third position with Adrián Fernández, crashing at turn 10. On lap 13, Adrián Cruces went down at turn 16.
