Raúl Fernández clinched pole in the early hours of this Saturday (the 10th) for the Indonesian Grand Prix, the 17th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. In the final phase of qualifying at the Mandalika circuit, the Trackhouse Aprilia rider posted a best lap of 1:28.852, earning the top spot for the first time in his career in the premier class.

The second position went to Marco Bezzecchi, the Aprilia rider who finished 0.109 seconds behind Fernández. The front row was completed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, in third place with a VR46 Ducati. Ai Ogura, on the other Trackhouse Aprilia, starts seventh, with Álex Márquez, who defends Gresini, taking eighth. Pedro Acosta, aboard a KTM, starts ninth, while Francesco Bagnaia, on a Ducati, is tenth. Franco Morbidelli of VR46 and Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha complete the list of the 12 best. The session was marked by a series of crashes. With less than three minutes left in Q1, Johann Zarco crashed the LCR Honda at Turn 10, got up, and hopped back onto his bike moments later. Then, with ten minutes remaining in the opening phase, Jack Miller crashed the Pramac Yamaha at the same corner as Zarco, a second tumble, while Ai Ogura moments later went down at the same spot as the Australian, in turns 2 and 3.

With 13 minutes into the Mandalika session that opened the classification, Enea Bastianini crashed in Turn 1 aboard the Tech3 KTM. In the final minute, Diogo Moreira came off his LCR Honda again, also in the circuit’s first turn. In Q2, Fermín Aldeguer toppled at Turn 14 on the circuit with the Gresini Ducati.
