MotoGP: Bezzecchi Beats Fernandez to Win the Indonesian Grand Prix

October 11, 2026

Marco Bezzecchi won this Sunday (11) the Indonesian Grand Prix, the 17th round of the 2026 MotoGP season. The Aprilia rider stayed close to Raúl Fernández at the Mandalika circuit, and when he finally managed to pass the rival, he opened a margin to take the win on the Asian track, securing Italy’s 300th victory in the category and narrowing the gap to the championship leaders.

Second place went to Fernández, who aboard a Trackhouse Aprilia led for most of the race. Jorge Martín, Bezzecchi’s teammate, completed the podium with third place. Ai Ogura, from Trackhouse, showed a strong performance in the latter half of the race and finished fourth, while Pedro Acosta of KTM took fifth.

Aldeguer passed Di Giannantonio to take fourth place, while the VR46 rider was also overtaken by Martín. On lap two, Aldeguer crashed at turn 16 and retired from the race. Faster, Martín moved into the podium zone on the third lap by overtaking Márquez. In front, Fernández led Bezzecchi by seven tenths.

Di Giannantonio continued to lose positions and dropped to sixth after being overtaken by Pedro Acosta, who soon began pressuring Márquez. In the back of the pack, Moreira overtook Jack Miller and moved up to 16th. The Australian Pramac rider crashed at turns 2 and 3 on the sixth lap, ending his race on the Indonesian circuit.

Francesco Bagnaia crashed on the seventh lap, joining the retirees. Shortly after, Acosta passed Márquez to take fourth. In the battle for the lead, Fernández saw Bezzecchi closing in, with a gap of only four tenths on lap eight of the race. Martín remained in third.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu was another retirement, this time on the ninth lap. Fernández, the leader, kept Bezzecchi at a distance where he could not be attacked, while Márquez again pressured Acosta for fourth. In the mid-pack, Ai Ogura launched an attack on Álex Márquez for seventh place.

Márquez returned to fourth by passing Acosta, while Bezzecchi began to attack Fernández for the lead on lap 14. A lap later, Acosta retook the fourth position from Márquez, allowing Di Giannantonio to close in. Moreira was overtaken by Franco Morbidelli and dropped to 16th.

Fernández again opened a four-tenths gap over Bezzecchi, while Martín remained isolated in third, far from the leaders but also four seconds ahead of Acosta, who was overtaken once more by Márquez. Ogura overtook Di Giannantonio at the start of lap 18 and moved up to sixth.

Bezzecchi managed to overtake Fernández at the start of lap 19. Soon after, Ogura attempted a double overtake on Acosta and Márquez, but failed. One lap later, the KTM rider regained fourth. The Spanish Ducatista then faced pressure from the Trackhouse Japanese rider, who made the overtake on lap 22.

Bezzecchi surged to the front and opened a 2.5-second lead over Fernández, who trailed 1.9 seconds behind Bezzecchi and Martín. Further back, Álex Márquez passed Di Giannantonio to take seventh. Ogura completed the overtake on Acosta and moved to fourth on the completion of lap 25. Two laps later, Bezzecchi went on to win, followed by Fernández and Martín. Moreira finished 16th.
