Ivan Ortolá was the fastest rider on Friday (the 28th) in the free practice sessions for the Aragón Grand Prix, the 13th round of the 2026 Moto2 season. In the final session held at MotorLand, the racetrack in the Spanish city of Alcañiz, the MSI rider posted his best lap at 1:49.791, not being outpaced by his rivals.
The second position went to Daniel Holgado, the Aspar rider who finished 0.058 seconds behind Ortolá. Senna Agius, on an Intact GP bike, was the third fastest, followed by Alonso López, fourth with Gresini. The group of the five best in Aragón was completed by Celestino Vietti, the rider who defends Speed RS.
The championship leader, Manuel González, ended the session with the sixth-best time of the day aboard the Intact GP, ahead of David Muñoz, seventh with Italtrans. Alex Escrig, riding a KLINT bike, concluded Friday in eighth place, while Collin Veijer, from Ajo, finished ninth. Izán Guevara, on a Pramac machine, completed the list of the ten quickest.
The Aragón day also defined the 14 riders who advance directly to the final phase of the qualifying. In addition to the ten competitors already mentioned, the list is completed by Ayumu Sasaki of RW Racing, Barry Baltus of Fantic Racing, Ángel Piqueras of MSI, and Taiyo Furusato of Team Asia.
On Saturday (28) there will be one more free practice at 04:25, followed by the qualifying from 08:40. The Aragón Moto2 Grand Prix is scheduled for 07:15 on Sunday.
